Kehinde Wiley Inspired Silhouettes
Students studied works of artist Kehinde Wiley to look at the way he portrayed men and women of color. Students then looked at historic artworks to select poses that they liked and wanted to use for their own projects. Background of students works were created using stencils which where made using the intials of their names. Students decorated and painted their stencil work in gold to give their pieces a "royal" feel. After that, silhouettes were decorated using line designs and meaningful text.
